Eddie V's Edgewater Grill, in beautiful DC Ranch, is surrounded by natural desert landscapes, a new shopping oasis, and sculpture garden suitable for leisurely after-dinner strolls. Dazzling desert views such as these may be hundreds of miles from the nearest seashore, but fresh seafood is the name of the game, complemented by live jazz and blues every night and what they tout as "the freshest seafood in town." With an extensive wine list (and an occasional wine tasting), and selections that vary from generous portions of Chilean sea bass, roasted with lemon, garlic and scallions to charcoal grilled mahi-mahi with spicy lime butter sauce, and a 16-ounce Midwestern beef NY strip steak, there's barely room for bananas foster and dancing. For lighter fare, come during happy hour for half-priced appetizers, 35-cent oysters, wines by the glass and $1 off cocktails. The air is thick with pretense in this dramatically decorated restaurant that is heavy with attitude, contemporary decor and ambiance sure to impress the most discriminating guest.
