What started as a small barbecue joint in Glendale has quickly grown into a chain of large, upscale restaurants in several states. Even people who hate chain eateries are regular customers because of the top-quality barbecue served in a lively atmosphere. Don't expect picnic tables and peanut shells on the floor -- El Paso is an upscale, full-service restaurant. Rustic, pealed wooden poles, stained cement flooring and large ceramic pigs speak casual, while expensive, original western artwork gives it a classy edge. A cozy, year-round outdoor patio is hidden behind an iron fence and huge, colorful bougainvillea. Weekend patio diners receive a complimentary side order of live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Just about everything is tossed into the fire or smoker at these award-winning eateries, but if it's your first visit, check out the house-special baby back ribs or slow-smoked prime rib. Specialties of the house include hand-breaded onion rings, barbecue burgers and sandwiches and a variety of fresh seafood, all served with a choice of cole slaw, steak fries, cowboy beans or potato salad. Dinners start at around $7, less for lunch.

Soory to hear others have anything less than an awesome experience. Try the smoked meat stew or babybacks with branding iron sauce...too die for!

Not too good
By patticat97 on 01/28/2007
I ate there about a year ago and thought the food was awful. I thought I would give it another try and ate there last month . Guess what? The food was still awful. The ribs were dry and tough and virtually inedible. The baked potato was small and dry. No bread, no salad. You are basically paying for dried meat and stale potatoes. However, the service was good and the staff very friendly. Too bad about the food.
