You don't have to spend thousands of dollars on a fancy skybox at the BOB to eat scrumptious meals and enjoy a brew as you watch the Diamondbacks action unfold below. Rather, you can hear the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd and watch TV close-ups on one of the 40 screens at Friday's Front Row Sports Grill instead. Friday's is an open-air restaurant above the left field bleachers, and you don't need a game ticket. It's a unique experience even when the Diamondbacks are on a road trip or during the off-season, because it's a major league sports bar, open 365 days a year. Food prices are not much higher than other TGI Friday's. Rather than typical, rubbery stadium hot dogs, Friday's serves succulent half-pound dogs for about $6. The menu ranges from appetizers to generous salads, burgers, steaks and meaty Jack Daniels ribs with barbecue sauce. Seafood selections include grilled Jack Daniels salmon (about $12) with buttery green beans and fries. Tasty vegetarian fare is plentiful. Beverages include more than 20 beers on tap and bottled beers from around the world. Enter through the Friday's gate on the north side of the stadium and take the elevator. Exit on the second floor and stroll into sports bar heaven, complete with autographed Diamondbacks jerseys and memorabilia from every pro sports team in the Valley. Even during the heat of a pennant race you can usually find a table, because the 14,000-square-foot restaurant seats up to 1,000 people.
