The upscale Merc has the reputation for serving the best cosmopolitan in the Valley. It also works well as a late date destination with its cozy, swank atmosphere and mix of martinis. Brass tables, stylish sofas and dark wood accents blend in well with the gourmet teasers such as smoked salmon and caviar. Cool jazz sets the mood, just loud enough to catch, yet low enough to accommodate that getting-to-know-you-better chitchat. The fashionable are found at this ultra cool spot in the Camelback Esplanade. Don your best threads and get there early for choice seats as the Merc Bar sizzles even on a Wednesday night. Saucy and sensational, it's the perfect nightcap; just order a pair of those acclaimed cosmopolitans and ease back into smooth lounge luxury. Be prepared to pay a little more, but it's worth it.
