Don't mind the surroundings of the drab strip mall -- it's only a disguise. Year after year, dating back to 1985, this charming little eatery provides an outstanding dining experience at moderate prices. Michelina DiSibio grew up near Naples, and the original art on the walls celebrates her heritage. The restaurant's two-level space is cleverly laid out to provide several intimate dining areas. Handmade vases are filled with beautiful fresh flower arrangements from her own garden, which also produces the vegetables for her meals. The tables, set with starched white linen, are decorated with more flowers. Michelina's menu covers northern and southern Italy, with pastas and top-quality chicken, veal, steaks and chops. But it's the seafood, impeccably fresh and embellished with vibrant, fragrant sauces, that truly displays the breadth of her skills. The signature oyster appetizer is a prime example -- six baked oysters in the shell, covered with three cheeses and topped off with spinach and a shrimp-filled cream sauce shot through with wine and brandy. It's not even on the menu, but is usually available as a daily special. Among entrees, cannelloni offers a pair of silky pasta tubes stuffed with meat and spinach, coated with a wickedly rich alfredo sauce. Fresh, homemade desserts provide an elegant finale, especially the light but intensely flavored tiramisu. The Italian grandmother's cooking compares with the finest in the Valley, but costs considerably less. Pasta dishes hover around $15, and seafood and veal top out at $25.

Italian but basic
By cassyphx on 02/15/2008
Michelina's is decorated very nice inside. The fresh flowers are nice, but it sort of smelled like a funeral home - too much! The wait staff was very busy and it took 30 minutes to get attended! The food is mostly your basic Italian cuisine – veal parmesan, marsala, fettuccini alfredo, etc. Prices for entrees are closer to the mid $20’s and not $15 as stated in the review. We considered the food overpriced for the quality. We will continue to travel to Tomaso’s for true gourmet Italian cuisine! Much more exotic menu, better quality food and a far superior wait staff!

I ALWAYS GO HERE WHEN I DON'T WANT A DISAPPOINTMENT. THE SERVICE IS EXCELLENT, THE FOOD AND PREPARATION IS SECOND TO NONE. THE ATMOSPHERE IS COMFORTABLE, AND FRESH FLOWERS ARE EVERYWHERE TO ENJOY. I NEVER FEEL RUSHED TO LEAVE. THERE IS NO "CORPORATE" RESTAURANT FEEL HERE!

Delicious and Hospitable
By valleyforgeguyz on 04/18/2005
greeted at door right away, host/server was efficient, polite and suggestive. Being an Italian food snob, it was done up the way it was meant to be. They also gave us complimentary salads and an after dinner drink compliments of the house, the Michelina's Kiss. Staying at the Biltmore Resort and Spa, and I have to say that the service was as good as or better as at the Resort. If ever back again, will make it a definite stop!

A wonderful dining experience! Food was delicious......plenty of room to accomodate large parties of diners. A very pleasant dinner.......we never felt rushed despite the fact that our party was the last table out of the restaurant at closing.
