Rate and Write a Review Founded as the Hotel Weilerbacher in the late 1880s, Kopys has been Kopys since 1978, and its never lost that old Americana hotel-bar feel -- even in todays virtual, wire-speed world. The bar is built of old wood and marble in an old, brick building. A number of stuffed fish and one deer head accent the wall space. High ceilings open up what could be quite a small space, and the walls are made of pressed-tin. One pool table, two pinball machines, one dart machine and a few raucous regulars provide entertainment. You can get a good, solid buzz off $10s, and the Herkeys deviled crabs are a delicacy unrivaled in a very large community of established Pittsburgh watering holes. If you go, bring your knowledge of sports. Steve, the regular bartender and owner, knows more about sports than your average Sports Illustrated editor. And if its fair drink prices you want, this is the place. The crowd is solid, especially on the weekends, but youll never be uncomfortable. And guys, leave your vanity at home, the bathroom mirror was broken out long ago.-- Jonathan Decker
