This very large, 401 room, 11-floor high-rise hotel is located on the eastern edge of downtown Pittsburgh, very close to the Civic Arena and definitely within walking distance of the Golden Triangle. Over half the rooms are specifically designed for business travelers, and they offer 14 meeting rooms for larger gatherings. The views of downtown, Oakland and the Monongahela River are great.As one might expect, the facilities are numerous. They have a full spa (with sauna) onsite, as well as laundry valet, hair salon and gift shop/newsstand. The in-house restaurant, The Steelhead Grill, is one of the best in Pittsburgh and racks up reader's poll awards every year. In-room amenities include coffee, data ports, voice mail, speaker phone, iron, hairdryer, satellite TV and newspaper. Cribs are available. Animals are only allowed when serving people with disabilities. Rates run pretty high, from $99 up through $179 per night, depending on the level of service you want.
