Rate and Write a Review People pack Piper's Pub at happy hour, but they're not all here for the Guinness and whiskey. True, this spot offers a range of whiskies, from inexpensive Bushmills to a Midleton Rare that tops $20, but the fare too delivers a strong British and Irish flavor that can't be topped. Start out with an appetizer such as a ploughman's platter of cheese, apples, gherkins and bread; or Scotch eggs, which are hard-boiled, rolled in sausage and deep-fried. Dinner options include toad in the hole (sausages in Yorkshire pudding and onion gravy), traditional Irish ham and cabbage, and shepherd's pie in Irish stout gravy. Modern curry favorites also are on the menu. The boxty, a large, crispy potato pancake that folds like an omelet, is the highlight of Sunday brunch, which also includes bangers (sausage), ham and scrambled eggs, corned beef, salmon and veggies. The setting is sure to please, right down to the vintage Guinness advertising posters. As you might expect, Piper's is a haven for footy (soccer) fans, with games piped to the telly via satellite. For a jolly good taste of England and Ireland, pop in to Piper's Pub.
