GLUCAS2653's Review

I imagine one could call the decor "quaint or charming" if one is fond of cracked, chipped or missing mouldings. I was surprised at how "dirty" the eating areas were as well. All this could be forgiven, if it were not with a "scary" encounter with the chef. I made the mistake of requesting "rye toast" with my omelet since I have a white flour allergy. Our server said it would be a dollar upcharge to go from "white" to "wheat" or "rye". I was surprised since the menu said includes toast. It did not say "white toast only". Our server went to get the chef to confront me. This is one scary individual. He towered over our table and had me glancing nervously towards the door. Prices are high enough without gouging the patrons for bread!

I can only give this place one star because it was in the Entertainment Book. I decided to have an early dinner, around 4 p.m., but could not get in. The door was locked! Does no one eat early? Does no one even want to have a drink, although excessively priced? If you want to eat there, good luck. I understand that it is crowded and that's probably because no one can get in until after the kitchen opens at 5:00. Oh yes, they serve lunch but then I guess they lock the doors, assuming that no one eats between lunch and 5 p.m. They need more than an e-mail address. They need a better owner/manager.
