A Different Twist   

There are lots of places to get a sundae on a hot summer day, but A Different Twist stays open all winter, too. Though the old-fashioned diner-style restaurant is big on frozen delights, it has a menu of low-priced sandwiches that includes chili cheese and mushroom burgers, along with standard quarter-pound burgers and hot dogs. Small signs on the wall tout specials and popular treats, and you can see the grill from the counter. Ten flavors of shakes and sundaes are joined on the menu by frosty Arctic Swirls in flavors such as banana pudding, chocolate-covered cherries and hot fudge crunch; frozen yogurt in five flavors, including blueberry cheesecake and moosetracks; and the Dirt Sundae (chocolate ice cream, whipped cream, Oreos and chocolate topping). Ice cream cakes are available for parties. If you've got the time, grab a booth as you down that Arctic Swirl and watch the cars go by on Saltsburg Road.
