If you've been to SouthSide Works, you've noticed the Cheesecake Factory -- the castle-like structure, complete with towers and minarets, dominates the central courtyard. Inside, it's equally elaborate, with a 400-person dining room that evokes an art deco movie palace. Egyptian-style faces stare out from great pillars; paintings are framed as large mock windows (look up and check out some nifty "skylights"); and electric torches brighten the room. That brings us to the main attraction: the huge menu, with more than 200 items. That includes plenty of desserts (try the Godiva chocolate cheesecake), temptingly arranged at a counter by the door. It also includes dinner choices ranging from Italian (penne pasta Da Vinci, with sauteed chicken, mushrooms, onion and garlic in madiera wine sauce), to Mandarin (spicy cashew chicken), to Jamaican (spicy black-pepper shrimp), not to mention American favorites such as the Factory burger.

Fabulous

Pros: Nice atmosphere, inside and out. Clean; staff is friendly and serves customers well. Big portions... You could have an appetizer as a meal! And of course a wonderful selection of cheesecakes. My favorite: White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. Cons: Parking is a bit of a challenge, unless you want to go the valet route. There are a number of parking garages nearby though. I'd advise going for lunch if you want to cut meal costs.

I have diabetes

Last time I went there I ate an entire cheesecake by myself. Not just a slice, but a whole cheesecake. In less than 10 minutes. I also ate their entire BBQ ribs platter, which is so good there should be laws against it.

The best!
By ubuggmee on 08/01/2007
The Cheesecake factory in southside is the best! Well, except for some of the pastas. But the quality of their appitizers and cheesecake makes up for it. You have got to try the Buffalo Blasts (w/ ranch is the best) and the sweet tomale corn cakes. The cheesecake is soooo good. But I can only eat it a little at a time because it is so rich and yummy! The service is good and the atmosphere is nice. I just wish it wasn't so busy all of the time.
