Fox & Hound looks like an English pub, complete with dart tournaments and soccer on the telly. (Don't worry, though: You'll find Steelers football and the MLB Extra Innings package on screen, as well.) Among the 32 beers on tap (and 100 in bottles) are Smithwick Ale and Tetley's Ale. The menu offers Newcastle Brown Ale-battered fish and chips, along with a world of flavors, many of them spicy. Try the Firecracker chicken pieces available in strains such as Daredevil (with chipotle barbecue sauce), Mandarin (orange-glazed and topped with sesame seeds and scallions), and Voodoo Jerk (with sweet-chili glaze and mango-pineapple salsa). The kitchen is open right up 'til the bar's 2AM closing time. Cigar lovers will find Macanudo and other brands, plus a quiet room in which to smoke them. If billiards, darts, shuffleboard and football aren't your thing, how about checkers? The first row of tables near the bar has built-in game boards.

Going Backwards

Great location and a well set up bar. The problem is that somehow management has apparently come to the conclusion that poor service is more than acceptable. Each time I've gone here in the last six months the service has gotten slower, more rude, and less aware of how customers are supposed to be treated. Would rather spend my $$ at the Bottleshop Cafe in Bridgeville.

Yuppies & Snobs! Oh My!!!

The Fox & Hound does have good food and prior to the evening, it's not that bad. After 8pm, the place goes gradually downhill. The crowd is, largely in part, 21 to 30 year olds that grew up in the north hills of Pittsburgh. Overcrowded and overpriced, the biggest downfall is indeed the class of people that frequent the establishment. I can look past $3.00 domestic beers and bad music; what I cannot overlook are rude, ignorant, spolied, selfish "young adults". Suggested alternatives for late night drinking in the north hills include the Barking Shark, the Rochester, and the Perrytowne Tavern.

This place is OVER PRICED, the specials AREN'T specials (unless you think that $3 for a Coors Light is a special....) and the Music SUCKS.....AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
