Rate and Write a Review Pamela's feels a bit like a retro diner thanks to a black-and-white checkerboard pattern on the floor and counters. Artwork, however -- some with bright splotches of color -- gives the restaurant a highbrow touch. The main meal here is breakfast, which is served all day. The tasty hotcakes, big enough to hang off the plate, are what really pack 'em in. Choices include banana-walnut, chocolate-chip banana, apple-walnut and strawberry. In fact, the strawberry flapjacks are so popular they're not available every day, according to the waitstaff. (After all, they sell like, er, hotcakes.) Crowds also push in for omelets of corned beef and Swiss cheese, spinach and feta cheese, and tomato, green pepper and onion. Though breakfast is the main attraction, the lunch crowd can nosh on sandwiches such as the Shadysider, a double-decker burger and the Oaklander (turkey breast topped with coleslaw). Pamela's serves all comers with basics that go beyond the ordinary.
