When you're looking for a sandwich that's a meal in itself, head to Primanti Bros. This location on the Strip is the original -- it's been here since 1933 -- but legend has it you could buy Primanti Bros. sandwiches from a horse and buggy in the '20s. Open 24/7 and boasting a publike interior (thanks in no small part to a full-service bar), this joint looms large over run-of-the-mill diners. Guide your group to a table, or sit at the counter and supervise the construction of your sandwich. Just make sure you're ready to knock elbows during lunch and just after the neighborhood bars close. The sandwiches come with tomatoes and coleslaw, stuffed between two thick slabs of Italian bread with loads of meat and cheese. The cheesesteak is a favorite, as are the juicy burgers. Early riser? Try the deluxe double egg-and-cheese sandwich, Pittsburgh's breakfast of champions.

Bread and Cole Slaw
By lskywkr66 on 08/29/2008
If I want to eat a sandwich of bread , cole slaw( tasteless) and greasy fries this is the place to go. As Sarah said Where's the meat????. Pices are up, quality is definitely fallen. Its understood that prices go up but food should rmain the same--here it hasn't. Primante's is living on it old reputation and the money of the drunks who patronize this slop chute late at night then puke their guts out in the alley. And i used to like this place.
