Rate and Write a Review Quiet Storm, established by underground celebrity Ian Lipsky, is more than a hot spot for live jam bands and tattoo-spotting; it's even outgrown its reputation as a hippie and bohemian hangout, a place for surfing the Internet for free, sipping quality coffee -- arguably Pittsburgh's best -- and thumbing through a magazine. Only a few years after its founding, Quiet Storm is a touchstone of Pittsburgh's ever-emerging youth culture, an integral source of cutting-edge local music, visual arts and the harbinger of the much-rumored pinball revival. It features dozens of coffees and teas (mostly from the progressive Fair Trade coffee group), but Quiet Storm also offers a succulent menu of pita wraps, vegetarian sandwiches, soy milkshakes and bagels with homemade hummus. Not enough time during the week? Quiet Storm's Sunday brunch is a delicious ode to the burrito's versatility.
