Some restaurants in the Strip District are cool, stylish places to meet and mingle, while others are no-nonsense stops for the busy eater on the go. Roland's manages to combine both atmospheres, offering a seafood bar, where you can feast your eyes on mouthwatering Alaskan king crab legs, shrimp and clams; and a bar area, finished in icy-blue tones, where you can warm up to a special someone and sample more than 600 imported brews. If the downstairs bar is too busy, there's another upstairs, complete with billiards tables and live music on weekends. There's also a two-level deck, so even in rainy weather, customers can dine outdoors and watch the people on the Strip. Seafood dominates the menu, of course, from jumbo shrimp and steamed mussels at the seafood bar to the beer-battered fish sandwich and high-end broiled lobster tails. You can also enjoy pasta, sandwiches and wood-fired pizzas. There are plenty of fish in the sea, but Roland's is a fine place to cast your net.

mediocre food.

Crowded, extremely loud music such that you can't speak across the table lest your outside. Qualty has diminished. I used to go there for Mussels no more. Quantity is nosubstitute for poor quality products. Mussels were dry, tiny , looked and tasted old. Were overdone such that they shrank to the size of lima beans. Arrrgh

Very enjoyable experience
By shacon6 on 08/02/2007
My boyfriend and I went in on a tuesday night for cocktails and ended up staying for dinner as well. Not only was the bartender very nice and attentive but the bar has a great facility. We were just going to have a draught but then saw the dinner special for the upstairs and decided to stick around. Can't beat the price or the view from the outdoor balcony. While the wine was great we'll definatly be back for soon for the beer selection. Great time! Will definately be back!

New England Seafood at's Best
By joebillpizzi on 02/06/2007
This is definitely New England Seafood at it's best. Try the lobster roll platter, the mussels and take a look at the raw bar. All are reasonably priced and you will feel like you are in New England. Rolands offers great food, good prices and a great atmosphere. Can't wait to return.
