The Embassy Suites Downtown holds the historic legacy of the Multnomah Hotel in its bones. Back in the day, the Multhomah was home to political conventions, Vaudeville shows and cabaret entertainment. After years of neglect, the downtown landmark was restored to its former glory. There was little expense spared in finding original wood, tile and brick from bed to ballroom. Guests are just a stroll or short dash away from the Portland Art Museum, the Galleria Shopping Mall, movie theaters, clubs, MAX trains and the numerous ethnic festivals and seasonal events of the South Park Blocks. The amenities themselves are Embassy standard -- suites with bathrobes, internet access, microwaves -- but this hotel also features umbrellas, a gift shop, a day spa in the lobby and a heated pool.
