A time-honored Portland tradition located in the lower level of The Benson Hotel downtown, London Grill is known for extremely high-end food and service. It has recently undergone a minor face-lift and menu revision. The elegant decor remains -- chandeliers, arched ceilings, wood-paneled walls, fine china and soft, soft lighting -- creating an intimate dining experience whether you come for breakfast, lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch. The menu includes numerous specialty dishes under the banners of both classic favorites and innovative award-winners. No one does eggs Benedict like London Grill. Dinner favorites include the tableside-prepared Caesar salad; Dungeness crab cakes with roasted red-pepper sauce and cilantro; the Chateaubriand for two; dill-cured salmon served with a salad of cucumber and red onion; filet mignon with cabernet sauce and garlic butter; and roasted rack of lamb. For dessert, try tableside-flamed cherries jubilee or the fantastic chocolate pot de creme. Especially noteworthy is the Grill's extensive wine list, tops in the Northwest with more than 10,000 European and U.S. bottles, many fairly priced. You can also reserve the single table for two located in the cellar for a private romantic dinner.

FANTASTIC!
By hteqnw on 01/02/2007
My wife and I have eaten at the London Grill many times over the last several years. We love talking to Al, John and the rest of the waiters. We particularly love the Steak Diane. It is to die for! We have recommended it to all our friends and they have all loved it as well.

Diner Beware
By keno733086 on 01/08/2006
Last evening my wife and I enjoyed our dining experience at the London Grill. That is until we returned home and she became violently ill with vomiting and diarrhea, and was crying in pain. When I phone the manager this morning he advised me food related illnesses usually take 48 and and they were not taking responsibility nor will I be compensated after spending $230 on dinner. Diner Beware.

I love London Grill

I think this restaraunt is under rated. We go several times year, and have never had a bad experiance. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The food is excellent. I recommend the Lamb, and the Tomato Basil salad. They have the coolest wine celler/room you can rent out for speacial occasions and have a private party-that is really fun!
