Here's an affordable option in downtown. The Mark Spencer is clean, with agreeable staff and free parking, something not found at many downtown guest quarters. With kitchen facilities in the rooms, it's a good choice for those planning an extended stay in Portland. Some of the rooms are pretty dark, so ask for a bright one. Close to the parks and nightlife, The Mark Spencer is also walking distance from the famous Powells Books.-JK
