It may be slightly off the beaten track but this industrial eastside sweet spot is worth the detour. The warm, inviting space has a subdued industrial feel with its exposed beams and concrete floors, and warm palate of color and art on the walls. But it's the case full of house-crafted pastries and desserts that draws regulars from around the business district and neighborhood. As exquisite looking as they are tasting, the sweet treats include more formal, decorated cakes for two (recently an Italian Orange Olive Cake layered with chocolate mousse and honeybutter cream) to simple tasties like five spice carrot cake, cranberry-pear Linzertarts and irresistible chocolate-chip cranberry oatmeal cookies. Stumptown coffee (including lattes, cappuccino and regular house) nicely matches these sumptuous delights. The lunch menu includes an assortment of grilled sandwiches, a simple mixed greens salad and soup or chili. There's also a small selection of beers and wine.
