When you step inside Dot's, you might feel that you've been transported into someone's home circa 1960. You'll be treated to dim, multicolored lights, thrift store pictures on the walls (including velvet matador paintings), diner chairs and Formica tables. Half of the joint is a restaurant, and the other half houses a full bar complete with a pool table. The bar offers discounted beers and mixed drinks, including the popular Coffee Cooler and Spice Rickey. The eclectic food menu offers an assortment of American, Mexican and Middle Eastern options, including a selection of comfort foods such as burgers and the Vegan Deluxe, which combines hummus, tomatoes, sauteed spinach and mushrooms on grilled dark rye. If you're looking for something more exotic, try the Caravan Platter with falafel, hummus, tabouleh, cucumber salad, Greek olives, feta cheese and pita. -- Jason Smith
