The best time to hit this ethereal, Japanese bistro is during happy hour (daily, 4PM to 6PM; 11PM to close) where you'll get a better deal on a selection of sushi, salads and specialty dishes. You'll also likely be more willing to embrace the restaurant's tragically hip ambience. The space's design might just be a little too L.A. for many Portlanders, but local hipsters seem to love it. Evenings find them cloistered in the vibrant urban scene with cocktails or sake in hand, either on couches next to ceiling-high windows or at spaces delineated by wispy curtains and small tables. In addition to a selection of fresh sushi, there are several traditional, yet creative entrees primarily starring beef and seafood, and fresh vegetables.
