One of several city nightspots that claim to be Portlands hottest dance club, Industry is where to go if you want to dress to impress -- no baggies, no boots, no tanks and no heavy jewelry. This is also the place to go to dance until way after the other bars have closed. While the bartenders turn off the beer taps and close up the drink bottles at 1am, the DJs turn up the bass, and the place gets packed until 3am. Its the place to be in the Old Ports early morning hours.All nights are 18 and older, but Thursday brings in the biggest college crowd for throwback tunes from the 70s and 80s, mixed in with the usual house/hip-hop fare. The industry is small compared to most other clubs, but after a night out on the town it really doesn't matter. The nice thing is that it's one of the closest clubs to a majority of the other bars/clubs in the Old Port, which all close at 1AM, but the industry is open till 3AM I think. It seems true that this club attracts the younger crowd, but I thought it was a pretty decent club. Every thing seemed fairly clean, the staff was friendly, I just wish it was little bigger inside. Although I did hear someone say they were planning on rennovating the inside to make more room for people.
