In a crowded field, a standout!
By ctcri on 02/25/2003
We have been to the Mills Tavern twice, once just as it opened, and once last week. If there is one thing Providence has, it is good restaurants, but this one is on top. Try the sweet potato/carrot side dish, grilled asperagas,(sp) and you will agree. Service was excellent, attentive and not instrusive. Except for a plethora of lawyers a the bar, (it is near the courthouse) the atmosphere was good. Wine list is good and not overly pricey. We will return again and again.

Milukas's Review
By milukas on 10/25/2002
I took my friends from NY City to Mill's Tavern and we were all impressed by the excellent food and great service. The foi gras on biscuit appetizer is an absolute must! Our dinners: lamb, beef short ribs, a fish special, and roasted pig, were all fantastic! This is not the place to go if you're on a diet. The sauces are rich, the portions not huge but certainly filling. It's also not cheap! We racked up a $300 tab for four with wine and drinks. Our server, Denis, was just about the most professional and attentive waiter we've seen in a long time...in Providence, New York, or anywhere else. Rick, at the bar, makes some of the best drinks in the city. This place is crowded on weekends and reservations are a necessity! I'd give the place 4 1/2 stars if I could...it was that good.
