Rate and Write a Review The Old Court Bed and Breakfast offers 10 rooms, each with its own style and flair. Antiques and period-style furnishings give the rooms 19th- century charm, while overlooking the historical district of Providence. The rest of the Old Court maintains the illusion of stepping back in time with chandeliers, high ceilings and detailed molding throughout. Even the cobblestone courtyard and brick faade are throwbacks to another era. The Old Court was originally built in 1863 to act as a rectory, and today you'll still find traces of its past in the ambiance. And while it maintains the wonderful adornments of its elegant past, it still offers all the convenience of a contemporary lodge. Every room has a private bath, television and phone and includes a full, homemade breakfast. You are within walking distance of the downtown Providence area or the Brown University campus. Staying at the Old Court also puts you close to a zoo, museums and beaches. The surrounding area is replete with historic landmarks and sightseeing opportunities as well. The inn is wonderful for couples looking for a romantic retreat or a short- term getaway but does not accommodate young children (under 12) or pets. TIP: Reservations are sometimes required months in advance depending on the season. -- Carl Salminen
