This b&b inn, run by Frank and Monica Hopton, brings a little bit of country charm to Rhode Island's capital city. Located minutes from downtown Providence in a quaint and quiet neighborhood, the inn provides comfortable lodging for vacationers, or business travelers sick of Marriott monotony. Originally built in 1889, the Inn was completely renovated in 1990 to bring its century- old charm a bit more up to date. Today, an artful blend of antiques, reproduction furniture, and authentic decorations and design create a unique atmosphere. Each room has its own private bath, cable TV and phone. Go deluxe and you can request a canopy bed and/or fireplace. Desks, refrigerators and fax machines can also be had for the right price. You'll be just a ten minute walk from Providence's business, government, and historical centers and -- for you pining parents -- the campuses of Brown and RISD are each a fifteen minute stroll away, Providence College a five minute drive.
