George's Cafe is a casual neighborhood eatery where autographed photos of sports stars cover the walls, reinforcing the menu's claim that George's Cafe is ''restaurant to the champs.'' (Brockton is the hometown of boxing legend Rocky Marciano.) At any given time, George's is stuffed with families, kids, singles in packs, couples on dates and some locals playing Keno or watching the game. The menu has a broad appeal, offering basic food in large portions for little money. Choose from dishes like fish and chips and stuffed shrimp, or try one of the sandwiches or burgers. Desserts are rich and traditional, like cannoli and chocolate pudding. The staff are champs themselves, welcoming regulars like old friends. -- Keri Fisher

It's a pretty good party disc. It gets you pumped. If you're into Tiesto, this is your deal!

20 miles away but worth it.

A family / neighborhood place. Dining rooms range from quite to livley. Italian Meatball soup and Liguini with white clam sauce are taste treats like nowhere else. We usually take home a pint or two of the Red Sauce w/meat just to it have on hand.

Rocky might be dead but....

The Brockton Blockbuster may have shed his mortal coil but Uncle Hank and the rest of the fine folks at George's keep his memory alive and well. Inbetween geneous portions of Italian staples and American fare, the "heavy on the elbow" drinks flow, the jukebox blares your favorite songs while the muliplex of televisions broadcast a litany of sporting extravaganzas. Keno is in every corner as are the pictures of Rocky and the top quality food at great prices.

My kid likes pasta. I'd rather a good steak. No problem. The thing is, the chicken teriyaki is to die for.
