Marchetti's is the kind of place you can bring your kids and you can bring your parents. On any given night folks of all ages can be found filling all the tables in the comfortable dining room. The mass appeal of Marchetti's explains why you may find yourself waiting for a table even on a weekday evening. The wait will probably be short, however, and in no time you'll find yourself seated at a booth or table and thumbing through the lengthy menu. There are no surprises on the menu -- just dozens of selections of traditional and familiar Italian fare.You'll find chicken parmesan, veal marsala, lasagna, spaghetti with meatballs, etc. You'll find more than a dozen different veal dishes, a dozen more chicken and a dozen seafood entrees. Appetizers include fried calamari (in a buttery pepper sauce) and a handful of salads. An extensive kids menu is available and is served quickly. Portions are huge -- plan on sharing or plan on eating your leftovers all week. Service is fast and efficient. Prices are low -- sandwiches on the menu cost less than $5, and entrees cost less than $10 for pasta and around $15 for veal. Marchetti's is also open for lunch, offering smaller versions of the dinner entrees as well as daily specials, all for less than $8. Wash it down with a couple of $1 martinis. OK, better make it just one.
