For decades, Capital Corral (or CC, as regulars know it) has been the premier night spot for Raleigh's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual crowd. This former country-western bar is always ranked as a favorite for those looking for a decadent place to dance, meet new people or enjoy some captivating shows. Pass the two neon Cs out front and you'll find a superbly lit dance floor, complete with smoke machines and a well-stocked bar nearby. Always spinning the latest mixes, the deejays keep the party going until the wee hours, and if you're looking for a little glamour, the drag shows at CC are not to be missed. Stop by on the weekend, when the crowd is lively and the dance beats are irresistible. Looking for something a little mellower? CC also hosts a cabaret-style piano lounge one night a week, with guest vocalists crooning your swanky favorites.

Great sound - great light show

I don't understand some of the reviews around here - the CC has a spectacular sound system and the dance floor light show is great. Fridays are packed with Latin night and Saturdays are always the hottest night of the week with great music and a hot crowd. Check out the glass wall between the huge bathroom and the dance floor not to mention the plasma TV screens everywhere. I don't work there and no one paid me or even asked me to make this review - check it out for yourself.

WHAT A JOKE

30 years...! How in the world has this hole managed to stay in business. It is clear that they have not changed ANYTHING in the bar in 30 years (including the customers). Go on a Saturday night and you get attitude at the door (the bald guy is a real prick, unless you are Mexican). The club needs to turn on the a/c...WAY TO HOT. The bathrooms are NASTY. The only good thing is the music is OK. This place would better serve the gay community as a parking lot for legends! Do yourself a favor, don't waste you time or money.......

This should truly be listed as a DIVE bar.....Perfect place for old music and weak drinks....
