For more than 60 years, Cannon has attracted skiers to the slopes in Franconia Notch State Park. More than just a ski and snowboard area, Cannon is winter headquarters for all kinds of outdoor adventures. From the mountain's 42 slopes and trails for skiers and riders of all abilities to winter hiking and ice-climbing routes and snowmobile paths, Cannon is a logical hub for winter outings. Tramline Trail is a new expert trail that follows the same line as the tramway. Another recently added expert glade trail, called Echo Woods, runs between Paulie's Folly and Zoomer. Cannon recently added three lifts (including a high-speed quad), a children's center and a major expansion of beginner and intermediate skiing and riding terrain. While Cannon is famed for its superb expert terrain, the mountain now offers a variety of gentler trails as well. -- Mary McKahn

Expert Only not a Family Park, If you are the outdoors type this mountain is what roughing the outdoors is all about, bring your Camel backpack, however the rewards are spectaclular with steep slopes and ungroomed terrain.

The improvements this year(99-00)have improved the beginners and itermediate areas. The beginners area now has a triple chair lift which services a large slope. While the novices can ski here you will be free to ski the best terrain around without the crowds.
