Rate and Write a Review With an interior that tends toward urban chic and an exterior that tends toward urban bustle, Luna is about as close as you're likely to come to cafe society in this neck of the woods. A product of the bourgeoning trend toward urban renewal, this contemporary twist on an Old World classic exemplifies downtown Raleigh's ongoing attempt to regenerate a viable commercial infrastructure. Romantics will appreciate the quiet elegance of the table service and the hip gallery feel of the artwork. Visiting suburbanites may appreciate the refreshing minimalism in the stained hardwoods and clean lines of the elongated dining area, which along with the large panel windows give the room a light, airy atmosphere. The cuisine is neo-Italian, with a menu that typically features a loose dichotomy of traditional classics and creative daily specials. As for beverages, the bar serves beer and wine only, but offers a fine selection of each. Sidewalk tables are available -- weather permitting -- and hint at the advent of a sophisticated metropolis. -- Charles Norwood
