Walk up the lit path through perfectly manicured foliage and enter an elegant house. You're immediately led into one of the house's many rooms, each set up with only a few tables. Stark white linens and full place settings establish the formal yet not stiff tone. Fresh flowers and soft candlelight make for an intimate and exceedingly romantic atmosphere. The culinary experience -- a seven-course prix-fixe menu -- begins when the friendly and well-trained waitstaff present you with various baked goodies and freshly whipped herbed butter. First courses may include beef carpaccio with mustard aoili; whipped brie with shaved celery and shallot salad; or jumbo lump crab meat and potato salad. Second course may mean pan-fried goat cheese or poached lobster with champagne foam. For the main course, choose anything from filet mignon or seared scallops to braised lamb shoulder or roasted duck breast with sweet-potato gratin. Desserts reign here, with selections like hot chocolate souffle, vanilla mousse with rhubarb sorbet, and strawberry chiffon. The menu changes seasonally.
