Combine the cooking skills of two well-known Triangle restaurateurs and the organic produce of a local farmer, and you've got the recipe for Zely & Ritz. At this Glenwood South tapas restaurant, chef Sarig Agasi, his wife, Nancy, and organic farmer Richard Holcomb use the freshest ingredients to put together a menu of small plates with big-time taste. Amid a background of contemporary art (set for sale by local artists), look over the menu. Tapas are meant to be ordered in groups and shared, so don't limit yourself to just a couple of things. The exception here is at lunch, when the menu consists mainly of salads, sandwiches and wraps. Begin with an order of stuffed grape leaves with dried fruit, and then try the warm chicken-and-Asiago sandwich with roasted peppers, or the Portobello-and-goat-cheese wrap. At dinner, share more inventive offerings like butternut squash and kabocha soup with apple cider and maple syrup, vegetable couscous, seared mahi mahi with a citrus sauce, and rack of lamb with golden raisin sauce. Take advantage of the late-night hours Thursday through Saturday, when they're open until 2AM to satisfy all the bar hoppers partying along this trendy strip.
