Here, the skip the notion of wimpy burgers that most fast food joints serve, and instead expect one that's big, juicy and has just-off-the-grill smoked flavor. In fact, it's that smoke in the air that you can smell from a mile away. As for toppings, the lettuce is always crispy, the tomatoes taste like you picked them yourself and the chili is never greasy. Some would argue that the burgers here aren't even the star of the show, instead arguing for the milkshakes. Try the peanut butter for a real treat, or seasonal selections like watermelon and eggnog. Fries are the thick-cut kind; you can kick up the flavor by dusting them with Cajun spices. Cook Out also serves up barbecue with hushpuppies, hot dogs and onion rings.
