In ShortDiners enter through leaded glass doors to stand in front of an ornate staircase. Linen-covered tables are placed throughout several lavish rooms. Warm tones and gentle candlelight add the finishing touches to this romantic setting. Start with the flavorful "Sapelo Mud River" clams, steamed perfectly and enhanced with Italian sausage. For entrees, the sauteed diver scallops over smoked duck and the roasted Australian lamb rack in a white truffle lamb jus are both top notch.

Less han 5 star service.
By diferent2at on 03/21/2007
A friend and I went here for a special dinner. I was left wanting for most of the meal. First of all: our table was not ready at the reservation time. The Hosts seemed confused as to what to do with us while we waited. One suggested we wait in the bar assuring us that the table would be ready in two minutes. The other suggested we just stand there and wait. We went downstairs to tour the over full and noisy bar area. After several minutes headed back upstairs only to be pushed off into the entry way couch to wait. (like scolded children). Our waiter was friendly and compentent. Service was a little slow for a Saturday Night meal and service was not ghostly like it should have been for a 5 star establishment. The food was worthy of 5 Stars. I have eaten in Five stars before that make you feel welcome and your patronage appreciated, I did not feel that way here. Overall I felt I overpaid grosely for the Second Empire Experience.

Simply the best.

Ok. 1. Yes it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. 2. Food is some of the best in the area 3. Service is probably the best in the area 4. Atmosphere is definately setup for success, if you can't win with this place..you need to date/marry someone else. Tip: They have a "chefs" table in the back and if you have a small group of 6-8 this is definately the way to go.

Awesome is all I can say...and to the person complaining about the price, don't go if you can't afford it, and don't give a bad rating based on that.
