Second Empire Restaurant   

This is an expensive place, but I love expensive places especially when they are well worth it. The food was far superior than any other I have had in the triangle. The ambience was superb in a quiet hushed way. The building alone is breathtaking, but the food... Anyone going to 'chow' down on all you can eat should just forget this place. The portions are artfully done and the combination of ingredients used is so unusual at times that I almost got a 'high' savoring the flavors. These are not huge portions, but dinner here left me feeling full and satisfied, not full and uncomfortable. The service is over the top. The tavern downstairs is cozy and warm and also elegant (you may eat there as well). This wonderful establishment has a formula that is perfection.

Excellent fine dining for an anniversary evening. The waiter was very personable and provided for all our request. It was perfect for a special occasion. The food was very well perpared and added to the special evening. We will return. We felt welcome. Price was as expected.

Very nice place for an expensive meal.

Had some problems with how steaks were cooked. Chef told me they were cooked right. Sorry but I know medium rare when I see it.
