Prostate Biopsy
My experiences with the Doctors at the Reno VA Hospital have been wonderful. They have all turned out to be much better than the private practise doctors I used to see in Reno on my wife's medical plan. I had a Prostate Biopsy done this morning by Dr. Rawlins. After speaking to freinds who had the procedure done, and reviewing the internet sites I anticipated a horrible experience. The reality turned out to be less painful than having a single blood sample drawn. I felt a tiny prick when the Doctor injected the pain medication, but it wasn't anywhere near as painful as a bee sting, which the Doctor said I would feel. After the initial injection I felt nothing at all, throughout the procedure, and even afterward. Doctor Rawlins has to be Super Girl! I guess all the prople on the internet were either lying or else they had Doctors that graduated from Fred Flintstone's College.
Transitional Care Unit
My husband had his operation, and was doing fine on surgery ward. Moved down to TCU, where neglect and uncaring aides and nurses, defeated everything that had been done to make him better. He died crying for help, with no one answering. He had bed sores from lying in his messes for 3 hours or more with no one caring to change him. No one answering the help light. I witnessed one aide actually abusing him, and she did not know I was standing there outside the curtain. The place was dirty, especially the tray tables, and the floors were cleaned only a few times a week. Could not get any help from the patient's advocate either, a Paul Woodard. Not in the least helpful.
