Winner for "Best Pizza" in the Reno Gazette- Journal's restaurant poll, Blue Moon offers gourmet pies with a choice of three dozen toppings. Start with a crisp and flavorful crust, available in sizes from 8 to 16 inches in diameter, and cover it with toppings like sun- dried tomatoes, zucchini, anchovies, barbecued chicken, Italian sausage, pepperoni, roasted garlic and creamy chevre cheese. Although the name says pizza, the restaurant serves more than that. There are calzones, lasagna, salads, garlic bread and bruschetta, among other things. And don't forget dessert, which includes brownies, tiramisu and cheesecake. The dining room is small, but pleasant and casual. When weather permits, there are outdoor tables, too. There's also a room next door that's opened when there's a crowd, which can also be booked during the week for pizza parties.
