Salon At Studio E   

I received a $50 gift certificate for Salon At Studio E from a friend b/c it was about to expire. I called and spoke to a stylist who agreed to extend the certificate by one week to allow me to get my haircut. When I spoke to her I explained that the certificate was for $50, yet I only needed a haircut which would be $32. The stylist at this point tried to help me find a way to use the entire amount by offering a coloring or perm which I kindly declined. I asked if they offered manicures or if I could use the certificate to purchase products and she said no, which was fine. The day of my appt the following week, this stylist called me and said she needed to reschedule my appt b/c her mother was sick and I allowed her to reschedule me for the following week. This is when things get very sketchy. I arrived for my appt and was unable to find my certificate. When I told the same stylist that I was looking for my $50 certificate she stated that she did not know that the certificate was for that large of an amount and that I had originally told her that it was for only $5. This is an outright lie. I told her that we spoke about it being $50 and she denied discussing it with me. Remember, originally she tried to help me find a way to spend the entire $50. Anyway, she told me that even if I did find the certificate, that she would probably not honor it since it was for $50 and had expired. This was absolutely NOT the original agreement. I was unable to find the certificate and was flustered about the situation so I asked this stylist if I went ahead and paid for myself and my son to get haircuts then I could get a refund if I found the certificate within one week and returned it to her. She said if I found it within a week then "OK". She said I could get my son's haircut for $10 and that mine would be $32. Since I was on a time limit for getting through my appt, I told her I did not need to get my hair washed and asked if that would reduce the price a littlie, in which she said yes. When we finished our haircuts she charged me a total of $42, which did not include the reduction for not having my hair washed. After I paid and before I left I asked the stylist again if I could redeem my certificate and get a refund on my check card if I found my certificate within one week. She said yes. I found my certificate five days later and dropped it off at the salon with my name and contact info. Since this stylist was out, I gave everything to a different stylist and left a message for the original stylist to call me that evening to confirm that she got everything and so I could give her my check card info to receive my refund. Although the lady who took my certificate and info said the original stylist would be back in 20 minutes, I never received a call from her. The next day I called her to confirm that she received my certificate and she told me that she never agreed to give me a refund and would not do it. This was another bold faced lie. She told me that she agreed to give me another haircut in the future with the certificate but that she would not refund my money. I never raised my voice at any time but stated that this was not our agreement and that she said that I could redeem the certificate and get a refund if I found it in one week. She again said had only agreed to another haircut, which is ridiculous b/c I would obviously not need to get another haircut within the one week of finding the certificate. She said that she was not going to argue with me and at that point hung up on me. Later the same day I called and asked her to please hold on to the certificate for me to pick up the following day from the salon. She replied, "uh huh" and hung up on me again. I have never experienced this level of deceit and lack of integrity from another business and am sad to see that myself, and probably many other consumers are being ripped off by Salon At Studio E on Peters Creek Road. I will never go there again and hope that many people in the area will read this review and stay clear of this business. This type of business practice is NEVER acceptable, but experiencing this embarrassing level of poor customer service and being robbed a total of $48 out of my bank account for pure $ gain of this company during this day in this economy is the icing on the cake.

Dewaine24, did you not understand what a gift certificate is? Someone paid for a $50 gift certificate....The service was paid for in advance and apparently paid for once more at the time of service. I certainly hope she got a good $98 haircut!! I certainly wouldn't consider $98 "NOTHING"!!! ...and certianly not free.

Let me shout as well about my feelings regarding this salon. WHEN YOU SELL A $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HONOR IT. IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT. THERE WAS NO NEED TO MAKE UP STORIES ABOUT A CUSTOMER BEING LESS THAN HONEST. THAT IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS. I DO UNDERSTAND YOU HAVE LONG STANDING CUSTOMERS WHO ARE TREATED MUCH NICER & WHO ARE PERSONAL FRIENDS BUT LET ME TELL YOU THERE IS NO WAY YOU WILL BUILD YOUR CLIENTELE WITH THIS ATTITUDE TOWARD POTENTIAL NEW CUSTOMERS. THE FACT THAT THE OWNER DOESN'T CARE SAYS IT ALL ABOUT THE OPERATING PROCEDURES AT THIS SALON.

first of all those cetificates were not 50.00. they were only 15.00 so you have no idea what you are talking about!!!!! I BOUGHGT ONE AND USED IT BEFORE IT EXPIRED!!!! THE LADY BELOW HERS WAS EXPIRED AND ON TOP OF THAT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE IT WHEN SHE CAME TO GET THE SERVICE IF YOU WOULD READ YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT .SO DO YOU GO TO THE DOCTORWITH OUT PAYING FOR YOUR SERVICE NOT HARDLY!!!! ALSO SHE OFFERED TO LET HER GET ANOTHER HAIRCUT WITH IT !!!!!!!! SO I THINK SHE WAS BEING PRETTY GENEROUS CONSIDERING IT WAS EXPIRED!!!!! PESONALLY I THINK THIS IS TERRIBLE FOR SOMEONE THAT WANTS SOMETHING FOR NOTHING AS I SAID BEFORE NO ONE PAID 98.00 FOR ANYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 42.00 IS NOT BAD FOR A HAIRCUT AND BANG TRIM AND A BOYS CUT!!!!!!! ON TOP OF THAT ANOTHER HAIRCUT FOR A GIFT CERTICATE THAT WAS EXPIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
