A little bitta kitsch, a little bitta camp, and a whole lotta furniture bolted to the ceiling await you at "your bar on Earth," home to Rochesters alternative music scene. Two or three nights a week, find a steady stream of local bands and fairly obscure national acts rocking out with varying degrees of success. DJ Stingray fills in the gaps. Works by local artists hang on the walls of the brightly colored lounge, reminiscent of a kind of after-hours "Pee Wee's Playhouse." The floor is a mazelike patchwork linoleum. One wall is lined with bowling-alley-style booths, while a rainbow of multichromatic, '50s-style kitchen stools line the bar area. An impressive collection of lamps is gathered near the bathroom. And let's not forget the "household on the ceiling," certainly worth a trip to the Jar all by itself.
