Good, but wrong info on here
By anarchist66654 on 01/13/2007
Muther's is a great place to hang out and feel welcomed to, its alot homier of a Night Club than their competitor Tilt. However the Club has changed from the info on here, they are now only open Wed-Sun from 4pm-2am, with no more kitchen and no more trivia nights, and the best drag shows in town every night!

"What A Dump!"
By titusgroaniii on 03/21/2005
Dirty, smelly and filled with what appears to be out-patients from the "R" wing at Strong Memorial Hospital, Muther's ranks just above Motor as Rochester's chief gay dive. In the words or Bette Davis, a favorite object of female impersonators the world over ( but not of the sorry drag queens featured by Muther's ): "What a dump!"

I came, I saw, I concurred

with the negative reviews given to Muther's. In no way does it resemble the positive synopsis of the establishment provided by this guide. Definitely low end, it does have a popular following for its tawdry Saturday night drag shows; "Les Girls" it ain't!

All's Well That Ends
By gopherbaroque101 on 02/03/2005
The recent negative comments I heard about Muther's gave me a hankering to check it out! I haven't gone there in a long time, largely because my partner and myself were not very impressed with it before. To be fair, I went twice in the last week, and to be fair, the place needs a thorough housecleaning. I am not an afficianado of drag, but when I went Saturday night, I was charged admission for the show, and the drag queens weren't even there until much later! Not too many other people were there, either. I was assured that "that's the way Rochester is" by the bartender, who assumed I was from out of town ( The Avenue Pub, The Bachelor Forum and Tara were already busy when I went to Muther's, which means he didn't know what he was talking about ). The pool table looked serviceable, but the smell from the mens' room around the corner wafted over. I did notice that the kitchen was not open for business, despite the write-up on it. The "stage" was dirty, and needed a paint job. After two bottles of beer, I left. The drag queens weren't there yet-so much for admission. The next time (Wednesday), there were a few people in there, "under-thirty" wannabees, desperately pretending to have a good time. I'm sure Muther's does provide something for a certain segment of the gay community and is probably legally licensed to sell alcohol, but I'm sticking to my old haunts which are busier, friendlier, cleaner and easier to talk to people.
