Back in 1998, an enigmatic Sacramento figure named Bobby Burns (a former West Coast road manager for Frank Sinatra) celebrated his 75th birthday at this establishment. Good choice, too: If ever you wanted to feel the spirit and energy of old Las Vegas without leaving town, this would be the place. With black leather booths, gold- and red-velvet wallpaper and dim lighting, the ambience will time-trip you right back to the Sands Hotel of the '50s. The Back Door Lounge showcases the music of the Rat Pack (no, not those young posers from the '80s. We're talking Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin et al), and if you're lucky, you just might meet Nick -- one of the most popular bartenders in town. -- Michelangelo Saucedo

drinks are decent, piano bar concept is cool but we've received rude service on each occasion, even been discriminated against (because were in our mid twenties?)

This is the perfect place to end a night on the town with the one you want to vibe with.
