Located in the heart of the revitalized K Street Mall (formerly a haven for bums, freaks and psychos), Marilyns offers downtowners live entertainment, the best in local music and more. The bar has a wide and impressive array of intoxicants, including beers, gins, cordials, wines, vodkas and rums. Its specialty? Single-malt scotches, including the coveted Macallan 25. Aged more than a quarter of a century, its so swank and pricey the bar manager wont even unpack it from its leather box. Kick back, take in the sounds of Funkengruven, HENCE, the Beer Dawgs, the Hucklebucks, Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers or Aaron King and the Imperials, or watch some televised sporting events. But if sports arent your thing, Marilyns offers its patrons an alternative: Capitol Legislative TV, which enables you to get loaded while you watch your elected officials and public servants waste your hard-earned tax money. -- Susan Moll
