Located in the historic Old Tavern Building, just minutes from the State Capitol, Biba Caggiano, celebrated chef, cookbook author, and TV personality, brings a bit of Italy to Sacramento. Savor the flavors of Biba's award winning authentic Italian cuisine in a friendly but refined ambiance, with attentive service that will make you feel instantly welcome. Enjoy spuntini with a cocktail or glass of wine in the lounge area, kick back and listen to piano music, or order a full meal at the bar or in the dining room. Only the finest and freshest ingredients are used and the food is truly Italian...house made lasagne Bolognese on Thursday and Friday and a different stuffed pasta dish every day. Osso bucco alla Milanese (veal shanks) or stinco di agnello (lamb shanks) are just some of the entrees you may expect to find. California and Italian wines are available to complement the food. And don't skip the dessert. The Tiramisu is to die for!

Though somewhat expensive, it is a great place to dine. I never had a bad meal there.

Horrible food
By mumssac on 05/04/2007
Had one of the worst Italian meals ever in this restaurant Ordered this for lunch: Fettuccine con Gamberi, Pancetta e Pomodorini Housemade fettuccine with prawns, pancetta and cherry tomatoes :::::: These were not prawns but teeny shrimp of lesser size than in most luncheon salads.Incredible that a supposed top restaurant would dare to describe them as "prawns" The pancetta was greasy pieces of bacon that made whole entree a greasy tasteless mess. Save your money! I was not impressed with a waitress who had a heavy foreign accent. Horrible area in which to find parking and meals certainly not worth paying to park in garage. I am amazed that people who claim to enjoy food would consider recommending this place which grossly misrepresents their food offerings on their menus! Double YUCK to ever considering eating there again.
