If you're one of those people who is always tempted to skip dinner and head straight for dessert, why not skip the restaurant entirely and head for Rick's Dessert Diner? Rick's is a '50s style joint-all pink and black and white, with a juke box up front and big booths in the back-and the desserts generally take their cue from the dcor. Check out the towering layer cakes, the homey pies, and cookies that are bigger than your face. We like the German chocolate cake and the key lime pie-although not necessarily at the same time.
