Rate and Write a Review We don't want to start a fight here, but the best burger in Sacramento just might be the "Squeeze with Cheese." For the uninitiated, that's a Squeeze Burger with a big slab of cheese from the Squeeze Inn, an aptly named little dive near the unlikely intersection of Fruitridge and Power Inn. In a world of perky recreations and facsimiles -- like Johnny Rockets or Huey's Diner -- the Squeeze Inn is the real deal. To call it a hole in the wall might overstate the size of the place; it's more like a hole in a hole in the wall. The "lobby" is about the size of a phone booth, and what passes for a dining room isn't much bigger -- just a handful of stools bellied up to a single counter, all surrounded by an odd but authentic assortment of boxing posters, fishing pictures and advertisements lauding the Christian faith. Behind the counter, a few obviously well-fed lads toil at the grill. Their Squeeze Burger ($3.25) is a true revelation -- one-third of a pound of 100 percent beef, stuffed into a nicely chewy sesame seed bun and reverently dressed with mayo, mustard, ketchup, tomato, lettuce, onions and the fanciest dill pickle slices we've seen on a hamburger anywhere. Combined with a big order of the fresh-cut, "unskinned" fries ($1.35-$1.80), the Squeeze Burger offers its very own kind of heavenly salvation.
