If you weren't looking for it, you'd probably miss it. The small sign out front is hardly readable, and unless you're curious, the large banner in the window that reads ''Brew Your Own'' might also be overlooked. But, just to let you know, San Antonio Homebrew Supply has been around for awhile, and not just for brewers, but for drinkers too. SAHBS provides everything necessary for making handcrafted beer by maintaining a generous stock of brewing supplies; from yeast, grain malts and hops, to sugars, flavorings and additives. On the other side of the room, there is a long wooden bar and chalkboard specials advertising a handful of beer selections that change regularly. So grab a seat in the bar. The place is informal and friendly, and locals show up regularly to appreciate the pleasures of a home brewed beer. If you haven't yet, you may very well be converted.
