Word of mouth and advertising leads possible patrons to believe that the Electric Company is a lesbian bar. It actually attracts gays of both genders, and mostly of a younger generation since the club allows 18-year-olds and older to enter. You'd need the energy to endure the late-night dancing and partying going on here (sometimes the bar closes well after 3AM). Every night anticipates something different, beginning with 'Male & Female Amateur Night' on Wednesdays. R&B on Thursday evenings, combined with $1 well drinks all night long, insures a hefty crowd around the bar and on the dance floor. No cover on that night is also a lure. More dance and drink specials on the weekends, ending with 'Butch Amateur Night' on Sunday, which wraps it all up for the week and gives all-nighters a two-day hiatus 'til Wednesday rolls around again. -- A.
