This old Texas roadhouse/dance hall draws local and national acts such as Robert Earl Keen, Augie Meyers and Lyle Lovett to the small town of Helotes to grace the stage. Hank Williams Sr., Ernest Tubb, Lefty Frizzell, Bob Wills, Ray Price and Merle Haggard are just some of the few who have yodeled, wailed and plucked at their guitars in this historic monument to Texas dance hall music. Willie Nelson wrote 'Crazy' here, and referred to the original owner, John T. Floore, in 'Shotgun Willie.' For a while, the ''redheaded stranger'' played Floore's every weekend. The facilities include an enormous outdoor patio, perfect for music under the stars, and a smaller indoor dance floor that holds about 300 to 400 people. Kick back and enjoy the sausage sandwiches, tamales and beer with your music. -- A. Onofre

Though plagued by a troublesome speaker at some points, and a voice that showed some strain, Clark and his masterful accompanist led the appreciative audience through many of his most memorable tunes. The audience, mostly middle-aged, nearly all shod in boots, sang along with most of the songs, especially the standards like
