Rate and Write a Review Built in 1932 by original owner Newt Casbeer, what was once a full-service bar transformed into part-restaurant when his daughter Lucille started whipping up her famous enchiladas. The spicy dish became a trademark for what is now considered a landmark for live music around Texas. While the nachos, burgers, steaks and down-home dinner plates keep a steady stream of patrons coming here, it's the eclectic music calendar that insures the diversity of the crowd. Open mic and jam sessions kick off the week inviting an assortment of talent, while Thursday through Saturday features local and touring acts with music that spans several states and genres. Hear just about everything that falls within the Third Coast Music category including bluegrass, country, Chicano blues and more. Casbeers also opens their doors for a monthly gospel brunch with music supplied by Miss Neesie and the Earfood Orchestra. A bountiful buffet accompanies the soulful group for a one-of-a-kind afternoon -- all for a mere 10 bucks. You'll want to buy tickets in advance for this one.
